Denmark Tax Agency Clarifies VAT Exemptions for Services Provided to Insurers

The Danish Customs and Tax Administration May 28 posted online Tax Council Binding Answer No. SKM2024.291.SR, clarifying VAT exemptions for services provided to insurers. The taxpayer provided an insurer with the services of marketing, making customer data available, and providing a website for pricing insurance, purchasing it, or requesting an insurance adviser. The taxpayer inquired whether the services were exempt under Section 13 of the VAT Act as services provided by insurance brokers and intermediaries in association with insurance and reinsurance transactions.
