Developing Nations Need UN to Air Their Tax Issues, Official Says

Developing countries need to have a United Nations forum to voice and discuss their concerns about global tax cooperation, because the OECD hasn’t done enough for them, an official from the group of nations behind the OECD’s global tax agreement said Tuesday.

“There needs to be a space where the needs of developing countries prevail,” said Marlene Nembhard-Parker, co-chair of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Inclusive Framework, the group of more than 140 nations that have agreed to the OECD 2021 global tax pact. She was speaking at the virtual Bloomberg Tax Leadership Forum.
