The UK doesn’t view its diverted profits tax as discriminatory, and bringing it under corporation tax through proposed changes will ensure it receives tax treaty benefits, the country’s tax authority said Thursday.
His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs said the legislative changes the government is planning would ensure the DPT is covered under tax treaties, including its agreement with the US.
The tax authority made the remarks during an in-person consultation session, in response to a question about whether the proposed changes to the DPT would make it non-discriminatory.
