Duque Says Colombia Won’t Raise VAT Levies on Basic Staples

Colombia’s government won’t seek a VAT increase on basic food staples such as coffee, sugar, salt and chocolate in the upcoming tax reform, president Ivan Duque said in interview with Red+ Noticias.

  • Items with 0% and 5% VAT rate will remain the same
  • Colombia needs to increase revenue to continue protecting the most vulnerable and stabilize public finances
