Ecuador Mining Chamber Files Constitutional Challenge to New Fee

Ecuador’s Chamber of Mining has filed a constitutional challenge to a new regulatory fee for the industry, Maria Eulalia Silva, the head of the chamber, said during a press conference in Quito.

  • The chamber argues that the new fee has formal flaws and is a hidden tax and has asked the court for an injunction barring the government from enforcing payment
