Ecuador Tax Agency Announces Information on 2025 Individual Income Tax Declarations

The Ecuadorian Internal Revenue Service Feb. 19 posted guidance on 2025 individual income tax declarations. The announcement includes: 1) mandatory e-filing for individuals with 2025 annual income exceeding US$12,081, including exempt pension and severance payments; 2) categories of taxpayers subject to individual income tax declaration requirements, including individuals with one or more employers, independent professionals, and individuals with independent economic activities; 3) tax calculation procedures; and 4) filing and payment deadlines between March 10 and March 28 under the general regime, based on the ninth digit of a taxpayer’s identity card or registry number (RUC).
