The EEOC opened investigations into charges of discrimination filed over Columbia University’s treatment of two janitors during campus protests over the Israel-Hamas War, the law firm representing the men said.
Torridon Law PLLC, co-founded by ex-US Attorney General Bill Barr, formally filed charges on behalf of the two campus workers in October 2024. The Ivy League university failed to take steps to combat antisemitic rhetoric ahead of April 2024 incidents where a mob assaulted two janitors and called them “Jew-lovers,” and also allowed a hostile work environment to fester, the charges provided to Bloomberg Law said.
