Egypt Tax Agency Posts Law Enacting Small Business Tax Incentive Regime

The Egyptian Tax Authority Feb. 12 posted Law No. 6, enacting a small business tax incentive regime. The law includes measures: 1) applying the regime to businesses with annual turnovers up to 20 million Egyptian pounds (US$411,800), regardless of tax registration; 2) requiring e-invoicing, and excluding specified business activities and projects; 3) requiring applicants to participate in the regime for at least five years; 4) providing exemptions from various taxes and fees, including stamp tax, company registration fees, capital gains tax on sales of fixed assets, and income tax on dividends; 5) applying income tax rates from 0.4 percent for ...
