Estonia Parliament Considers Bill to Reduce VAT on Specific Food, Animal Feed, Restaurant, Catering Services

The Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu) Sept. 10 accepted for consideration Bill No. 492 OE, to apply a reduced VAT rate of 5 percent on: 1) foodstuffs, beverages, and other items intended for human consumption, like seasonings and preservatives, but excluding alcohol and tobacco products; 2) animal feed, including raw materials, additives, and industrial waste used in animal feed; and 3) restaurant and catering services.
