The European Commission wants feedback through Nov. 28 on a draft European Union rule that would establish a registry for management of the EU carbon border adjustment mechanism, known as CBAM.
Companies subject to CBAM would submit declarations and notifications to the registry. Starting in 2026, CBAM is intended to equalize the carbon price paid by non-EU companies that import into the bloc, with the carbon price already paid by EU companies that participate in the EU emissions trading system.
