EU finance ministers on Tuesday approved a bill that updates the way EU-based sellers report and pay value-added tax on goods imported from outside the bloc.
The bill will expand the use of the so-called Import One-Stop Shop system, which allows online sellers to register in one EU country to declare and pay VAT.
“VAT collection on imports through the import one-stop-shop is beneficial to the member states’ public purse and will clear the path for the ongoing negotiations on the Union Customs Code reform, which is a key priority for our presidency,” Andrzej Domanski, Polish minister for finance
