EU Mulls Replacing Shell Company Bill With Tax Data Sharing (1)

EU countries will consider if the objectives of a bill meant to curb the proliferation of shell entities could be better met by amending the EU’s tax data-sharing law.

In a document dated May 19 and seen by Bloomberg, Poland—which holds the EU’s rotating presidency—writes that the aims of the bill, known as Unshell, could be replaced by making changes to an existing tax data-sharing law that seeks to limit cross-border tax planning meant to avoid taxes, known as DAC6.
