EU Panel Backs Norway VAT Agreement Update Enabling Joint Audits

The European Parliament’s economic and monetary affairs committee Thursday backed without amendments an update to a European Union agreement with Norway on tackling value-added tax fraud and recovering VAT claims.

The update would modify a 2018 VAT agreement by enabling joint audits involving EU and Norwegian officials, allowing sharing of more information on imports and vehicles, and adapting the agreement to current EU data protection rules.
