A senior European Commission official promised Wednesday to deliver ambitious legislation meant to simplify the bloc’s tax rules, saying the bill will be “very business-friendly.”
Benjamin Angel, head of direct tax in the commission’s tax department, said the bill follows the “biggest review of European tax legislation ever.” He was speaking at an International Fiscal Association conference in Madrid.
