The European Commission’s upcoming tax simplification package won’t reopen the bloc’s global minimum tax directive, according to a senior EU official.
It “doesn’t make sense” to adjust the directive while the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development runs its own simplification process for the minimum tax on a similar timetable, said Ioana Diaconescu, head of the commission’s Direct Taxation Unit.
