EU Targets Spain, Malta, Germany Over Tax Rule Breaches (1)

Spain must change its rules to allow tax payments from foreign bank accounts or face a legal challenge at the European Union’s top court, the European Commission said Wednesday.

The Commission, the EU’s executive, also threatened Malta with a court referral over its golden passport scheme, and warned Germany over applying different withholding taxes to certain domestic and cross-border dividend and interest payments.
