EU Tax Head Wants US Cooperation to Get Global Tax Deal Done (1)

The EU will continue to work with the US to secure a global tax deal, EU tax commissioner Wopke Hoekstra said Tuesday, amid continued negotiations for an agreement.

Hoekstra, who holds the portfolios for climate and tax, said in an interview with Bloomberg that the US and the EU are allies and must cooperate on a range of issues, including tax.

The EU and the US are involved in negotiations at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris, where groups are still working on concluding the global tax deal, agreed to by more than 140 countries in 2021.
