The European Commission (EC) March 5 issued State Aid Case Decision No. SA.121215, approving the German federal regime under the Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework (CISAF) to support investment in net-zero technologies. The decision includes measures to: 1) estimate a budget of 3 billion euros (US$3.4 billion); 2) authorize aid until Dec. 31, 2030; 3) allow aid for qualifying companies, excluding some undertakings; 4) require investment projects to add manufacturing capacity for CISAF-listed net-zero technologies, or for specified new or recovered critical raw materials; 5) cap aid per project at 15 percent of eligible costs and 150 million euros ...
