European Commission Approves Italian State Aid Regime Supporting Coronavirus-Affected Companies

The European Commission (EC) June 7 issued Daily News No. MEX/22/3531, approving the 33.6 million euro (US$36 million) Italian state aid regime to support companies active in the regions affected by the earthquakes of 2016 and 2017, due to the coronavirus pandemic. The regime includes measures to: 1) aid companies of all sizes that made productive investments between Jan. 1, 2021, and Dec. 31, 2021; and 2) provide state aid of up to 2.3 million euros (US$2.4 million) per beneficiary, until June 30.
