European Commission Explains Rules on VAT Administration

The European Commission (EC) March 14 explained the VAT and administrative cooperation between EU members for taxation. The announcement includes measures to: 1) provide the regulation for the exchange of specific information between tax administrations; 2) introduce a network to combat VAT fraud; 3) implement the central electronic system of payment information; and 4) provide a framework governing administrative cooperation.
