European Commission Seeks Comments to Revise EU VAT Rules on E-Invoicing

The European Commission (EC) March 18 opened a consultation on the revision of the EU VAT rules for electronic invoicing. The consultation seeks comments to: 1) address shortcomings identified in evaluating the current rules; 2) ensure that harmonized electronic invoicing becomes the EU-wide norm; and 3) ensure harmonized implementation and inter-operability of electronic invoicing.
