Ex-EY UK Boss Varley Joins Private Equity Firm as Deal Adviser

Ernst & Young’s former UK boss has joined Warburg Pincus to advise the private equity investor on buying stakes in professional services firms.

Steve Varley will focus on professional services investments as part of his work as a senior adviser with the firm’s industrials and business services group, Warburg Pincus said in a Wednesday announcement. He also will concentrate on companies at the intersection of services and technology, the announcement said.

Varley previously chaired audit and advisory firm EY’s UK and Ireland business from 2011 to 2020.
