Feds to Get Accounting Documents in $28 Million Tax Dispute

The government will get an accounting of two years of assets and transfers from a Bahamanian trust as it litigates a $27.8 million dispute with the trust’s owner.

Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks of the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida on Tuesday entered a stipulated consent order filed by the US and Equity Trust Bahamas Ltd. that allows the government access to the information starting Aug. 1, 2023, mooting a motion for a preliminary injunction the government had filed in the ongoing lawsuit.
