The Finnish Ministry of Finance June 19 opened a consultation on Draft Bill No. VM043:00/2025, to amend the VAT rates for specific products and services. The bill includes measures to: 1) reduce the reduced VAT rate to 13.5 percent from 14 percent for various products and services, including food, restaurant and catering services, feed materials, passenger transport, accommodation, guest port activities, medicines, and cultural and sports activities; and 2) apply a reduced 13.5 percent VAT rate to broadcasting activities rather than the current 10 percent rate.
