Finland MOF Seeks Comments on Proposed Changes to Broadcasting Tax, VAT on Broadcasting Activities

The Finnish Ministry of Finance Oct. 4 opened a consultation on draft bills to amend provisions on the broadcasting tax, and the VAT on broadcasting activities. The bills include measures to: 1) increase the income limit for individuals over which the broadcasting tax is collected, to 15,150 euros (US$16,581) from 14,000 euros (US$15,323), effective Jan. 1, 2025; 2) reduce the maximum amount of broadcasting tax for individuals, to 160 euros (US$175) from 163 euros (US$178), effective Jan. 1, 2025; 3) transfer broadcasting activities covered by the reduced 10 percent VAT rate on broadcasting activities, to the reduced 14 percent rate, ...
