Finland Parliament Passes Bill to Amend Law on Inheritance, Gift Tax

The Finnish Parliament (Eduskunta) Dec. 3, 2025, passed Bill No. HE 94/2025 vp, to amend the Inheritance and Gift Tax Act. The bill includes measures to: 1) increase, to 30,000 euros (US$35,031), from 20,000 euros (US$23,354), the inheritance tax exemption threshold; 2) increase, to 7,500 euros (US$8,757), from 5,000 euros (US$5,838), the gift tax exemption; 3) increase, to 7,500 euros, from 4,000 euros (US$4,670), the tax-exempt amount for household goods; 4) reduce late payment interest on inheritance tax to the reference rate plus two percentage points; and 5) allow generational change relief for minor heirs if their guardian continues business ...
