Finland Parliament Passes Bill to Increase Unemployment Insurance Contributions for 2026

The Finnish Parliament Nov. 26 passed Bill HE 119/2025 vp to increase unemployment insurance contributions for 2026. The bill includes measures to: 1) increase to 0.89 percent of wages, from 0.59 percent, the employee unemployment insurance contribution; 2) increase to 0.31 percent from 0.20 percent the employer contribution on payroll up to 2 million euros (US$2.3 million), and to 1.23 percent from 0.80 percent on payroll exceeding 2 million euros; 3) increase to 0.39 percent from 0.30 percent the contribution rate for company part-owners; 4) require employers to pay the full deductible premium when payroll reaches 40 million euros (US$46.6 ...
