Finland Tax Agency Posts Updated Guidance on Taxation of Fringe Benefits

The Finnish Tax Administration Dec. 28 posted online updated Guidance No. VH/5981/00.01.00/2023, on the taxation of employer-provided fringe benefits. The updated guidance includes: 1) tax considerations for fringe benefits shared between several users; 2) the valuation of housing benefits at fair market value for benefits received by a person working remotely abroad, when the residence abroad is primarily due to work; 3) clarification that residence abroad isn’t primarily due to work for teleworking carried out abroad; 4) rules for fringe benefits in the form of electric car charging devices at employees’ homes; and 5) the bicycle benefit limit of 1,200 ...
