Foreign Companies Paid Russia $386m in ‘Exit Tax’ in 2024: RBC

Foreign companies exiting the Russian market have paid to the budget 35.7b rubles ($386m) in “exit taxes” in the first two months of 2024, RBC reports, citing Electronic Budget state system.

  • Payments are itemized under “gratuitous receipts from non-governmental organizations”
  • The amount exceeds the FY 2024 budget plan for the “exit tax” by 17 times
