The European Commission is referring Portugal, Poland, Cyprus and Spain to the European Court of Justice for failing to implement the global minimum tax.
In an announcement on Thursday, the commission said the countries were supposed to have implemented the law by the end of 2023, but had not yet done so. The commission had warned the countries in May this year that they would be referred to the court unless progress was made.
