France MOF Issues Guidance on Social Security Contribution Exemptions on Employee Gifts, Gift Vouchers

The French Ministry of Economy and Finance Nov. 27 issued guidance explaining that employers are exempt from social security contributions on employee gifts and gift vouchers if the amount awarded to the employee in a calendar year doesn’t exceed 5 percent of the monthly social security ceiling, which is 166 euros (US$188) for 2018.
