France Moves to Support Farmers Hurt by Iran War Fuel Spike

France’s agriculture ministry announced measures to support farmers’ cash flow after a sharp rise in fuel and fertilizer prices driven by the Iran war.

The measures include the deferral of social security contributions, a rescheduling of tax deadlines and short-term loans from French public investment bank Bpifrance, according to an emailed statement.

The ministry is also working on a sector-wide agreement with banks and distributors to provide greater flexibility for farmers facing cash flow difficulties due to the current crisis.
