The French government published draft guidance for its digital services tax, just a week before companies have to make their first payment.
France’s government enacted its 3% levy on large tech groups, like Facebook Inc. and Amazon.com Inc., on July 25. It is retroactively effective from Jan. 1 2019.
- The tax will hit any company that has worldwide revenue of at least 750 million euros ($834 million) and 25 million euros of digital sales from either online advertising or acting as a digital intermediary in France.
