France Tax Agency Updates Administrative Doctrine on Short-Term Contract Allowance, Default Withholding Tax Rates

The French General Directorate of Public Finance April 7 updated the administrative doctrine on the short-term contract allowance and default withholding tax rates. The updates include: 1) the allowance of 748 euros (US$874) for short-term contracts in force from May 1 following the revaluation of the monthly net taxable amount of the minimum wage on Jan. 1 to 1,495.04 euros (US$1,747); and 2) adjustments to the default withholding tax rate tables from May 1, for taxpayers domiciled inside or outside mainland France, or in the French overseas territories of Guadeloupe, Reunion and Martinique, French Guiana, and Mayotte.
