The French government is considering cutting a research and development tax credit policy, newspaper Les Echos
- The policy, which has a shortfall of €7.7 billion this year, could be cut by around €400 million ($446 million), a person familiar said: Les Echos
- Business lobbies are still hoping to preserve the measure and have the government make cuts in other areas, according to Les Echos
- Scheme allows companies to deduct 30% of their R&D expenditure up to €100 million from their corporate tax, and 5% above that figure
