Germany Cabinet Approves Increases to Various Social Security Contribution Thresholds for Higher Earners

The German Government Oct. 8 announced the Cabinet of Ministers approval of 2026 increases in various social security contribution thresholds, for higher earners. The announcement includes measures to increase to: 1) 69,750 euros (US$80,614) annually in 2026, from 66,150 euros (US$76,457) in 2025, the contribution assessment ceiling for statutory health insurance; 2) 77,400 euros (US$89,460) annually in 2026, from 73,800 euros (US$85,299) in 2025, the compulsory insurance limit for statutory health insurance; 3) 8,450 euros (US$9,766) monthly in 2026, from 8,050 euros (US$9,304) in 2025, the contribution assessment ceiling for general pension insurance; 4)10,400 euros (US$12,020) monthly in 2026, from ...
