Germany Gazettes Ordinance Setting Social Security Contribution Thresholds for 2025

The German Official Gazette Nov. 27 published an ordinance setting threshold increases for calculating 2025 mandatory social security contributions (SSCs). The ordinance includes measures increasing: 1) the annual contribution assessment limit for statutory health insurance to 66,150 euros (US$69,862) from 62,100 euros (US$65,585); 2) the annual compulsory insurance limit for statutory health insurance to 73,800 euros (US$77,906) from 69,300 euros (US$73,159); 3) the general pension insurance cap to 8,050 euros (US$8,498) per month uniformly throughout Germany; 4) the monthly miners’ pension insurance income limit to 9,900 euros (US$10,451) from 9,300 euros (US$9,818); and 5) the provisional annual average salary limit ...
