Germany MOF Increases VAT-Exempt Threshold for U.S. Troops

The German Ministry of Finance May 5 posted online Letter No. 2022/0437006, increasing the VAT-exempt threshold of services for personal use by U.S. troops. The notice increased the threshold to 7,500 euros (USD $7,905) from 2,500 euros (USD $2,635) for the services exempt from VAT purchased by U.S. service members for personal use, when paid for with a VISA/Mastercard Government Procurement Card (GPC), and applies retroactively from May 1.
