Germany Plans EV Tax Incentives in Draft Coalition Agreement

Germany’s future government plans incentives to strengthen sales of electric cars including exempting them from general vehicle taxes until 2035, the parties write in a draft coalition agreement.

  • Parties say they want to “maintain a strong automotive and supplier industry as a key industry and a source of jobs for our country”
    • Additional perks include plans to raise the price limit for electric company cars to €100,000, and a special depreciation allowance for EVs
