Global Tax Cooperation Key to Stability, OECD Official Says

International tax cooperation can provide stability for businesses at a time when global trade tensions and protectionism are on the rise, an OECD official said Friday.

Multilateral cooperation on tax would build trust, reduce cross-border frictions and foster predictability “in uncertain times,” Fabrizia Lapecorella, deputy secretary-general at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, said in a keynote speech at the International Tax Italian Conference.

The OECD remains committed to ensuring that developing economies can “meaningfully participate in shaping and benefiting from the international tax agenda,” Lapecorella said.
