Pascal Saint-Amans, former director of the influential Centre for Tax Policy and Administration at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, will join the University of Lausanne as a professor.
Saint-Amans, who will start Feb. 1, 2023, will focus on tax policy and international dispute resolution as part of the Swiss university’s Tax Policy Center, according to an announcement.
- He launched the OECD’s Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) project to tackle international tax avoidance in 2012 and brokered last year’s landmark agreement among almost 140 countries and jurisdictions on a two-pillar reform of the international tax system.
- Saint-Amans also led the effort to establish automatic exchange of financial account information as a global standard in 2014.
- He retired from the OECD at the end of October.
