Greece Gazettes Decision on Retroactive VAT Suspension Procedures for New Buildings

The Greek Gazette Nov. 8 published Decision No. A. 1156/2024, clarifying procedures for retroactive VAT suspension on new buildings. The decision includes measures: 1) specifying procedures for taxable builders to submit electronic requests for retroactive VAT suspension on real properties for which a notarial transfer document was drawn up by Aug. 2, and for which property transfer tax was paid instead of VAT; 2) setting the Feb. 3, 2025, deadline for the requests and for the submission of required documentation; and 3) specifying procedures for input VAT deductions on the properties.
