Greece Gazettes Law Implementing Tax Relief Measures Due to Coronavirus

The Greek Official Gazette May 30 published Law No. 4690 implementing tax relief measures due to the coronavirus pandemic. The law includes measures: 1) clarifying that the 25 percent discount on March, April, and Q1 VAT payments also applies to June payments; 2) decreasing the VAT rate to 13 percent from 24 percent for coffee, non-alcoholic beverages, cinema tickets, and passenger transport services from June 1 to Oct. 31; and 3) clarifying the tax treatment of pilots, co-pilots, and aircraft engineers of airlines with permanent establishments in Greece.
