Greece MOF Announces Various Tax Changes

The Greek Ministry of Finance Sept. 8 announced various tax changes. The announcement includes: 1) an adjustment to pensioners’ annual solidarity contribution limits; 2) that all pensioners will permanently receive annual pension increases based on inflation and GDP, with an estimated 2.35 percent increase from January 2026, and that pensioner solidarity contribution calculations for working pensioners will be adjusted to exclude pension increases related to a pensioner’s work; 3) the extension of the pharmaceutical expense exemption to pensioners from 2025, and the permanent social assistance of 250 euros (US$292); 4) the modification and reduction of the allowances for houses, cars, ...
