The Greek Parliament Feb. 17 accepted for consideration a bill to amend social security provisions. The bill includes measures to: 1) set the minimum period of basic pension contributions at 40 years; 2) adjust the supplementary pension paid if the principal and subsidiary pensions exceed 1,300 euros (US$1,404); 3) upgrade to electronic services only; 4) require detailed periodic reports and mandatory submissions of retirement, disability, or death applications; 5) outline the application procedure for maternity allowances, sickness allowances, and funeral expenses; and 6) set the digital pension allocation procedure.
