Greece Tax Agency Announces Mandatory E-Invoicing Implementation Timeline

The Greek Independent Authority for Public Revenue Sept. 16 announced the implementation timeline for mandatory electronic invoicing. The announcement includes that: 1) mandatory e-invoicing for business-to-business (B2B) transactions between Greek enterprises with gross revenue over 1 million euros (US$1.1 million) for tax year 2023, and businesses in Greece or non-EU countries, effective Feb. 2, 2026; 2) optional e-invoicing for sales to businesses in the EU; 3) a period of gradual adaptation to e-invoicing, with parallel usage of business management programs, such as accounting or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, or the special registration form, from Feb. 2, 2026, to March ...
