Guyana MOF Proposes Bill, VAT Orders to Amend Specific Tax Measures

The Guyanese Ministry of Finance July 21 proposed Bill No. 2/2022 and VAT Orders Nos. 2/2022 and 3/2022, to amend specific tax measures. The amendments include: 1) a reduction in the final tax on mining activities to 2.5 percent from the maximum of 3.5 percent; 2) the removal of the 10 percent Tributor’s Tax; and 3) a VAT exemption for cement, cement board, sheet rock, and lubricating oil.
