Head of UK OBR Resigns After Early Leak of Reeves’ Budget (1)

Office for Budget Responsibility Chairman Richard Hughes quit his post after taking responsibility for the premature publication of the contents of Rachel Reeves’ annual budget.

The OBR found its budget analysis was accessed early due to people “entering a predictable internet address.” That caused a major leak that quickly spread on social media and triggered gyrations in markets long before Reeves stood up to deliver her plans before parliament.
