EU countries will discuss two potential solutions to move forward negotiations on an overhaul of the bloc’s value-added tax regime that is currently blocked by Estonia.
Hungary, which currently holds the EU’s rotating presidency, will ask other EU countries to consider either allowing a derogation for Estonia, or to further ease obligations on small- and medium-sized enterprises to placate Estonia, according to people familiar with the matter.
EU countries are due to discuss the bill Oct. 15, with a view to get the bill approved in November.
