Hungary’s Orban to Meet Trump, Discuss “Economic Package”

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban says he will meet US President Donald Trump “soon,” and the agenda will include an “economic package.”

  • One of the main issues to be discussed is a bilateral tax treaty between the US and Hungary, as well US investment projects into Hungary, Orban says in interview with pro-government news site Mandiner
  • NOTE: The treaty on the avoidance of double taxation between the US and Hungary was scrapped by the Biden administration in 2022
